IOTA Introduces Swirl Liquid Staking Platform on Tangle Network

IOTA recently launched Swirl, a liquid staking platform designed to enhance user accessibility and promote broader adoption of its technology. Swirl has been testing on the testnet since April 21, 2025. In doing so, it leverages IOTA’s innovative Tangle structure to provide the most effective and environmentally friendly staking experience possible. The platform encourages users to stake their IOTA tokens. In exchange, they get stIOTA in return, lowering barriers to enter and allowing more participants to help secure the IOTA network.
The release of Swirl serves as IOTA’s latest attempt to drive the expansion and use for their platform. To ensure the easiest possible staking experience, IOTA is committed to attracting new users and retaining existing ones. This effort is a testament to IOTA’s dedication to innovation and user-centric design.
Swirl is IOTA’s new liquid staking platform. Users will be able stake 100 IOTA and in return immediately receive an equal value in stIOTA. This on-the-fly conversion is an important feature, bringing liquidity to otherwise staked assets. It opens the door for more users to engage in the network’s security and governance without having to lock up their funds for long periods of time.
IOTA’s decision to base Swirl on its distributed Tangle framework places it far from the staking platforms seen elsewhere. As a directed acyclic graph (DAG), the Tangle offers numerous benefits in comparison to conventional blockchain technology. Get higher transaction speeds and lower transaction costs with this cutting-edge technology! This is a key reason why Swirl is an appealing choice for users who want to get the most out of their staking earnings.
IOTA’s aim is to increase the decentralization of the network by reducing barriers to entry for would-be stakers. Swirl makes staking easy and intuitive so you’ll feel right at home. It’s instantaneous liquidity that incentivizes more users to tap into the network. This method is designed to incentivize as many of the possible IOTA users to stake their IOTA tokens. In doing so the network’s overall security and stability will progressively improve.
Swirl’s introduction is the latest, major step in that direction. IOTA makes a smart play in expanding its ecosystem further with this addition. The platform complements other initiatives aimed at increasing the utility of IOTA tokens. Second, it helps accelerate adoption in other sectors. While IOTA has some exciting partnerships and integrations in the works that promise to increase the value proposition of its technology, IOTA is still a relatively new technology.
The Swirl contract went live on the testnet on 2025-04-21. This gives developers and users a chance to test its functionality and provide their feedback. This inaugural testing phase is extremely important. It allows us to catch any lingering bugs and address any issues that may arise before officially taking the platform live on the mainnet. All of the feedback collected during this testnet phase will be used to make additional improvements and refinements to the platform.
The platform’s new design focuses on the user experience, allowing anyone to easily stake their IOTA tokens and earn rewards. The intuitive interface and clear instructions ensure that even novice users can participate in the staking process without any technical expertise.
IOTA is dedicated to remaining on the cutting edge, and that’s why they created Swirl. The platform makes a pioneering advance in continuing the development of staking mechanisms. It combines that unique ability to use the Tangle framework with a strong focus on user experience to produce impressive results. Though still under active development, IOTA is working to improve and expand Swirl. This will accelerate the implementation of its technology in the most impactful ways.
