Galaxy and Fireblocks Partner to Expand Staking Access for Institutions

As part of this integration, Galaxy Digital will enable more than 2,000 financial institutions of diversified crypto portfolio Fireblocks with access Galaxy’s staking services. This collaboration allows institutions using Fireblocks' custody infrastructure to directly access Galaxy's staking services from their vaults. The move’s further significance lies in its further positioning of Galaxy as an infrastructure provider for capital markets that are moving towards on-chain solutions.
With $3.15 billion in digital assets under stake and growing, Galaxy is building out their custodial network purposefully and strategically by partnering. This integration with Fireblocks represents Galaxy’s third custodial expansion this year, having recently signed agreements with Zodia Custody and BitGo.
Strengthening Staking Offerings
The partnership with Fireblocks is intended to mutually enhance staking offerings for both companies. Now institutional demand for staking has increased dramatically. This trend is being driven by increased regulatory clarity and the eagerness of traditional financial institutions to chase yield opportunities built on blockchain technology.
"With Galaxy’s proven infrastructure and deep expertise, we’re bringing even greater value and choice to our clients." - Adam Levine, Fireblocks’ SVP of Corporate Development & Partnerships.
Galaxy’s infrastructure unit, which is focused on staking, custody, and institutional adoption. The company’s vision is to build the next generation of blockchain-native financial services and this partnership reflects that vision.
Galaxy's Expanding Custodial Network
This latest integration with Fireblocks is just the most recent in a series of strategic moves to expand Galaxy’s custodial network. Earlier this year, Galaxy formed like-minded alliances with Zodia Custody and BitGo, further shoring up its defense as the clear leader in this emerging market. These expansions allow Galaxy to take its staking services and open them up to more institutional clients.
"This Fireblocks integration represents a significant step forward in Galaxy’s mission to make secure and capital-efficient staking available where institutions custody their digital assets." - Zane Glauber, head of blockchain infrastructure at Galaxy.
Galaxy focuses on custodial partnerships. This new focus reflects the growing demand for secure, reliable infrastructure from institutional investors in the burgeoning digital asset space. Importantly, through partnerships and integrations with existing custody providers, Galaxy can still provide its staking services backed by the institutional-grade security that comes with a custody offering.
Institutional Demand for Staking
The surging appetite for staking from institutional investors is a major factor fueling Galaxy’s push into broader areas of expansion. Regulatory clarity across key jurisdictions and further adoption of blockchain based yield generating opportunities have helped lead to this trend. Institutions are already working hard to find ways to earn yields on their crypto assets. Staking offers the National Parks an easy way to make good on their promise.
"As crypto infrastructure continues to mature, we’re committed to delivering services that match institutional performance and reliability standards." - Zane Glauber, head of blockchain infrastructure at Galaxy.
With a roadmap that includes partnerships with Fireblocks, Zodia Custody, and BitGo, Galaxy’s positioning the company to thrive on this booming demand. Galaxy hopes to establish itself as the leading provider of blockchain-native financial services to institutional investors. They’re accomplishing this by providing secure and user-friendly staking solutions.
